Manfred Kubny, Ph.D., Director of IATCA®

Manfred Kubny, Ph.D., was born in 1959 and has obtained a Ph.D. in sinology from Ludwig-Maximilian University (LMU) at Munich, Germany (with major in sinology and minors in japanology and the history of medicine; additional studies in musicology).

Manfred Kubny is a well known expert for the history, theory, and practice of the Traditional Chinese Sciences. Dr. Kubny who is fluent in Chinese and is able to read as well classical as modern Chinese, has been living for many years in Taiwan R.O.C. and in the People’s Republic of China where he has been initiated into the methods of Taiji Quan, Feng Shui, and Traditional Chinese Astrology (Bazi Suanming) by well known Chinese masters and other native Chinese representants of traditional Chinese Sciences. Already in 1984, he obtained the official teaching license with diploma of the Taiwanese Ministry of Culture for the teaching of Taiji Quan. Manfred Kubny is a personal friend of Grandmaster Yap Chenghai. He is considered to be one of the few Western experts able to read and interpret the mantic and visionary texts of the classical and modern Chinese literature in the original language. The investigations in the field of the traditional Chinese Sciences carried out by him for many years led to a number of publications that are recognized as fundamental contributions in professional circles, such as the monumental history of the famous concept of Qi :

As a result of 10 years of research in the original Chinese sources, he has created the very first textbook of Bazi Suanming, the traditional Chinese astrology respectively personality analysis, in any Western language:

Together with this textbook he has edited the first complete Chinese universal calendar, also known as “ten-thousand-years-calendar” (wannianli), decoded in a Western language:

From the early 1980s, Manfred Kubny for many years has carried out field research on Chinese shamanism and the Traditional Chinese Sciences. Since the 1980s, he has been particularly interested in the technique of Bazi Suanming. In addition, he studies Chinese numerologies, such as Qimen Dunjia, as strategy systems, and the classical theories of Feng Shui.

Dr. Manfred Kubny, Ph.D., advises individuals and companies, and is also recognized as an accomplished expert in the divinatory techniques in Taiwan R.O.C.
